We are a diverse team of like minded OCR mud loving fans. We range from elite to charity fun runner and cover every possible level in between. We attend a ridiculous amount of events throughout the year both in the UK and across the world.

Age and occupation: I'm 33 and a Tree Surgeon.
How many races have you done? Over 100.
Favourite race of all time: Spartan European Championship, Morzine 2018.
Best bling/headband: Spartan Bling.
What do you love about OCR? It's challenging in so many different ways, it can be competitive or fun and of course, the community is brilliant.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Pre-race, most definitely a decent coffee, preferably Starbucks. I check my laces a ridiculous amount of times and of do a thorough warm up. Post race normally involves more coffee and food, ideally something with tuna for amino acids and a really good stretch.

Age and occupation: I'm 42 and I'm a nurse.
How many races have you done? Over 100 this year alone.
Favourite race of all time: That's a Tough one but Rat Race Coast to Coast in Scotland. 109 miles.
Best bling/headband: Pieces of cake ultra marathon.
What do you love about OCR? It's a fantastic way to exercise, push yourself in competing, meet new people and help others. I like to give something back and volunteer too.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Nope, nothing.

Age and occupation: 37. I'm an Occupation Contact Centre Supervisor.
How many races have you done? Around 50.
Favourite race of all time: Spartan Beast Morzine.
Best bling/headband: OCR World Championships medal.
What do you love about OCR? It has made me travel around the world meeting new people.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Just my pre-race porridge.

How many races have you done? I don't know exactly but over 100
Favourite race of all time: Hmmmm, jury is out on that one.
Best bling/headband: Best bling has to be OCRWC 2017. 
What do you love about OCR? The fun, the friends, the health, the strength, the knowledge, the confidence (ok i’m still working on that one), the career, the banter, the sights, the failures, the lessons, the giggles, the ability to climb stuff and swing from things which I couldn't do before, the adventures I've had and above all, the people in my life who will stay there til the end. Yeah, that.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? I eat toast and Bovril. I drink coffee, coffee, coffee and have a sniff of Vicks vapour rub! It's tradition.

JAMES HUSBAND

Age and occupation: 33, European VAT manager for McKesson.
How many races have you done? Over 50.
Favourite race of all time: Toughest UK although Europe's Toughest Mudder was the best experience, and amazing sense of achievement and pride in the aftermath, but I'm not sure I would do it again!
Best bling/headband: Tough guy medal.
What do you love about OCR? I love OCR because it provides that release from life, and particularly work, that we all need. It gives me a purpose to keep fit and every OCR provides a new and exciting challenge. It has also brought me many friends who I never would have crosssed paths with otherwise.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Just a tidy routine of getting ready pre race and the usual you know what.

JENNY STEWART

Age and occupation: 35, a Veterinary assistant at a referrals centre.
How many races have you done? I've lost count, but over 100.
Favourite race of all time: Man V Mountain or Mud Monsters.
Best bling/headband: I have two. My Judgement Day medal as I ran for my niece just after she passed away. JD made the day special for her and my medal is engraved with her name. Second favourite is my World Championship medal.
What do you love about OCR? You can start a race next to a stranger but finish as friends. I love seeing others achieve their goals.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Just my porridge when I get up and a banana after registration.

Age and occupation: 43, Firefighter.
How many races have you done? Around 40.
Favourite race of all time: Make-A-Wish charity race at the World Championships 2017. Team UK, including our Editor hit The Blue Mountain ski resort slopes in full fancy dress and descended at high speed in torrents of flood water reaching The Irish Bar just beyond the finish line faster than any sprint finish I've ever done.
Best bling/headband: My SILVER World Championships medal with its spinning maple leaf.
What do you love about OCR? That it saves so many people from a variety of perils: boredom, inactivity, suppression, depression, obesity, loneliness and isolation.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? No rituals, I just faff a lot.

 

 

Linda Johnson
 
LINDA JOHNSON

Age and occupation: 40, Managing Director of Mintgbstamps.
How many races have you done? 86 since starting 3.5 years ago. 
Favourite race of all time: The Suffering 10 miler.
Best bling/headband: Obviously my GOLD medal from Enduro.
What do you love about OCR? Odd as it may sound, it's seeing other people complete obstacles for the first time. I have all the time in the world for other people and even if I'm racing, I promise, regardless of what course we're on, I will always offer you advice, a hand or even gloves. (OMRM Editor can vouch for that!).
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? It doesn't matter where I am in the world, I have to have porridge, honey and banana for breakfast.

Age and occupation: Age 43, Purchasing Director for a food and packaging company.
How many races have you done? 50-70, I've lost count.
Favourite race of all time: Charity race at the Worlds, I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life.
Best bling/headband: Worlds Medals from 2017, not necessarily the best but they hold the most fun memories.
What do you love about OCR? The challenge, making lots of new friends and being able to act like a total idiot and get away with it!
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Only the standard PRP!

How many races have you done? Around 100.
Favourite race of all time: Euro Champs 2018 Short Course
Best bling/headband: Euro's band and Nuclear Oblivion vest.
What do you love about OCR? Pushing yourself to the limits on an endurance event and how much you can push the body to perform over your mindset.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Just a PRP. (You know)

How many races have you done? 81
Favourite race of all time: World Championship 2017.
Best bling/headband: Toughest.
What do you love about OCR? Pushing the limits and success when I thought I couldn't do it, and racing with my Son.
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Raw beetroot before a race.

Favourite race of all time: Toughest, OCREC Germany and the Worlds.
Best bling/headband: Keeping all bands at world champs, OCRWC 2017 Canada spinning medal or first RRDW. 
What do you love about OCR? The escape from everyday life, the people and of course my Race Team!
Any pre / post race ritual you simply can't live without? Sausage & Egg McMuffin and 2 pre-race poos.
