Obstacle Mud Runner - issue 08

ForEliteAtheletes to FunRunners 01732 452404 37 How light and bouncy? My first impression of these is how striking the sole looks compared to most other brands. I really like the funky colours available with these. I am an inch or so taller with these on and I find my steps really bouncy. I put these on and I actually WANT to run. HOKA’s design approach has been inspired by what a runner needs to improve their performance. This shoe is quite rigid which I found was super supportive when running, it still allows for natural movement and my landing strike is smooth. The shoe itself is really lightweight without restrictions. The ARAHI 2 brings all the innovative features from the original Arahi and adds an all-new upper. It’s more breathable, especially for the top of the foot. We do finally appear to be moving out of Winter and into Spring with the lighter mornings and early evenings but I love the additional feature of the reflective heel meaning a little more reassurance when visibility was poor on my darker runs. Tried & Tested The padded tongue means you can’t feel any seams digging in, even with my thinner socks on and the little hook on the back of the heel makes it easy to put them on without trapping your fingers between your own foot and the heel notch. Overall I really like these. They have a good firm grip but are definitely for road or treadmill running, not trails. At just 217g on average for a UK size 8 they are extremely lightweight too. We give these a big thumbs up. HOKA ONE ONE Arahi 2 www.hokaoneone.eu FOOTWEAR : REVIEW
