13 WORLD SERIES OF FITNESS of the virtual sessions clearly paid off, with participants from the UK featuring prominently all age group leaderboards, although admittedly more so on the bodyweight leaderboard due to the severity of the UK lockdown! A couple of top UK performers in the competition include HYROX UK ambassador Jade Skillen and HYROX partner gym owner Gavin Hogarth, finishing in ninth and third in their respective equipment divisions. The focus of the weekly Zoom workouts then shifted to the postponed launch of the UK events, with dates already scheduled in London, Birmingham and Manchester. These workouts were really important in “filling the gap” and keeping the community alive and motivated until the April 12 gym reopening. Gyms have since, and will continue to be, absolutely critical locations for HYROX training and preparation as they will provide the opportunity to train with the equipment that is used in the HYROX competition. HYROX have already signed up a number of partner gyms across the UK, from up in Scotland all the way down to southern England. These gyms will be hubs for HYROX training, with classes, training days and HYROX simulators lined up to get the UK community prepared for the big events!
