28 Your Healthcare Academy Mental Health First Aid course: This two-day programme is delivered in house or through live trainer-led virtual sessions to a maximum of 16 people so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn. Sessions can be scheduled to suit your requirements. This course Qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, certified under Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA England), giving you: n An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing. n Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. n Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress. n It provides you with the skills, knowledge and understanding of first aid for mental health and how to effectively support those experiencing distress. n Enhanced interpersonal skills such as nonjudgmental listening. n This empowers both individuals and communities to understand the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and how best to support themselves and those around them in recovery. n It helps to reduce stigma and discrimination around mental health. n Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix. The course is structured around a blend of individual learning and four live sessions. Learners will be required to participate in a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. Everyone who completes the course will get a MHFA manual, workbook and a certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider. All our Mental Health First Aid course are delivered by Mental Health First Aid Instructors who are registered by MHFA England to deliver the accredited courses. The Mental Health First Aid Instructors course is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.
